About the Mixtape:
Consisting of artists from all over the US, also sporting a clutch feature from Fred The Godson himself, this tape ranges from aggressive boom bap all the way to conscious or even trap influenced tracks. Not catering to a specific sound, this release is a true testament to hip hop. Representing independence, unity, and creativity while staying aggressive, the P.T.S.D Mixtape brings forward the hunger and originality that mainstream music could never contain or change.

“After networking with many producers and artists at Team Backpacks (MULA) Mission Underground Los Angeles 2015 I created a group to encourage penmanship and competitiveness. The goal of the group was to provide a platform for artists to not worry about promotion or finding producers or how to “get on” etc. but more to have new and more seasoned artists work together in ways that this generation of music doesn’t necessarily encourage. The PTSD movement stands for Progress through self-destruction, the format was that once a month an instrumental was purchased by myself or donated by participating producers and posted in our Facebook group (facebook.com/group/ptsdm), artists had to write based off a theme if provided, or a cypher 16, sometimes even an entire song. Which then was voted on by the other artists in the group. Once voting was done and a winner selected the track would be either mixed or mastered by the artists or sent to me where I would have it done. The product of this format is this mixtape.”
